pG Arcade

Well, another week, another attempted add-on to bring something to the site. We realize we have had one before, but it was never maintained, or interest completely faded. Well, new software, new attempt.

It is still in the very early stages of development, but I do have access to it, so while the majority of the site was asleep, I was adding this Arcade. The system comes in with the default games, Bejeweled, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Tetris, Chopper and Snake.

I have added two, to test various administrative functions and other things. Those are Angry Birds and Zuma Screwed.

Clicking on the Arcade tab (once activated) will bring up this page:




Obviously, once clicking on a game, you will then be taken into the game screen:



I have looked at some other games that I am going to add, hopefully today, including Street Fighter 4 as well as one or two others.

If you think this may interest you, and you would like to contribute, I am trying to figure out how to incorporate the idea of "Purchasing Games" for here. Yes, they are free to download, free to install. As you see above with Angry Birds, there is a description area. Once I get to say... 10 games, that would be all "pG" would run. After that, if a member wanted to use their Sportsbook Cash or pG Points (leaning to points) to purchase one, in the description area, we could have "Brought to you by DEREKTROTTER" or whatever user it may be.

- This place has a bunch of games that are free to download. The only caveat is that you have to make a post there each day when you want to download a game. Maximum of 15 per day.

- (IBP games) The main site of the ibPro Arcade has over 1500 games for download. As with most sites, these are of dubious to HOLY MOLY! quality, and includes more "adult" fare. There are some really great finds here! You are limited in your downloads, but they are not super restrictive. Just by being a member you can download 5 games per day. Pay a fee and that goes up to as much as 50. In my opinion it's worth a small cost. It helps them out & you get great games.

Is this something anyone would be interested in, or is it just a waste of time?

At the moment, impossible.

Maybe down the line. This is very very early in development. I can look into seeing what the site can do as far as tracking when played, points, etc. Possibly run our own for pG Points or Sportsbook....

Fee? Where is everyone getting that it costs money?

I am still confused. There is no fee. This is xFArcade. The IPB arcade will not even work here. If you register there, you can still download games.

The difference between the FREE and the one that comes with payment is only the amount of games you can download in a day. Nothing more than that.
